Thanks again for hosting this and your development work. Since Texticles.com is taken, I don't really have a name which I feel is clearly superior. I do like TextDrivel.com because it pays homage to the most vibrant section of the TxD forums and captures a bit of the absurdest humor favored by its denizens. It also echoes the TextDrive name more closely than TextUsers (which is also a bit more clumsy to pronounce--even if that's only done in your head).
On the other hand, TextUsers(.com) is certainly apt and would be fine (and would have a unique abbreviation--I suggest TxU, like Textdrive University, or Teach You).

I also thing that TextDrivel leverages the rich history of the textdrivel forum, which is one of TextDrive's most valuable assets.
The folks at pair.com have PairUsers because they don't have anything similar to leverage. The users of TextDrive have a unique 'culture', and I think our user wiki should reflect that. --TomWeir
Another vote for "TextDrivel". "TextUsers" is perhaps the more informative name, but it is almost completely lacking in personality—not an accurate representation of the TextDrive user base.

from the "New name vote" article: "The vote will be closed Wednesday November 8 at 7:00PM PST"
in the spirit of being an inclusive cooperative project i'd like to keep the voting open for three days. afaict the only announcement made to the textdrive community about the voting was the one i just made on textdrivel. i suspect there are probably folks who would like to contribute who may not log into the txd forums today and see the voting announcement. let's give our community a few days to get the announcement, get an account from Jared, and vote.

- thanks for the extension Jared. i'd also like to suggest that in the unlikely event of a tie, we extend the voting one day at a time checking the result at 7:00PM PST each day until the tie resolves.

I don't like either TextDrivel or TextUsers, or in fact any of the "Text" names. We're all Joyent costumers now, and I got the impression from jason here <http://forum.textdrive.com/viewtopic.php?pid=108050#p108050> that the TextDrive name is being de-emphasized. Therefore, I'd like to see the name relate to Joyent as a whole rather than just one piece of it. My vote was for "Joyride".

* dhdesign added a 13th vote for TextUsers at 7:10pm PST and declared a public intention to vote on the forum at 6:35pm PST due to a concern that wiki registration would prevent voting by 7:00pm
